LAGUNA PUEBLO, N.M. (KRQE) – The suspect concerned in an officer-involved taking pictures that shut down Interstate 40 for many of Saturday has been recognized. Twenty-eight-year-old Robert Benjamin Nelson of Scottsdale, AZ allegedly fired photographs at a New Mexico State Police officer’s head as they approached his pickup throughout a visitors cease round 9:30 a.m.
Officers say, after being struck, the officer was capable of return hearth at Nelson. He then fled the scene in his car and the officer shortly adopted in her police unit. After a brief chase, Nelson stopped on I-40 close to mile marker 135 and exited his truck.
